Self promotion ✌🏼 March meet the maker 2020, Day 29:
This was never something I was very good at. I used to get extremely embarrassed by compliments, or having to represent myself and my ideas. Tutorials at university were my worst nightmare. I would think, why does anyone care what I have to say.
As I’ve grown up I’ve realised people do want to hear my voice. I have so many supporters behind what I am trying to do, not just my friends and family, but others out there in the sustainable fashion world all striving for the same things I am. I realise now that by talking about what I do, I am not boasting, I am joining a conversation that has been going on for a long time. I’m new to the party!
I can now acknowledge that I am great at sewing, at sourcing, at designing colour and print combinations, and at portraying joy and fun through my products. It’s nice to be able to be confident and proud of myself - finally.
I love my brand and my products. I think they offer something different to a growing group of people who care for more than just following the latest weekly trend. Not just another faceless product in an already saturated market, but a piece that is useful, comfortable, stylish AND positive for the planet.
I make sure I love every piece I send out, and that makes my brand and my products worth investing in, at least I think it does.
